Laura Nelkin’s pretty shawl is a perfect project to celebrate Michigan’s transition from winter to spring!
It’s entirely flexible, in terms of size, difficulty, and fiber. And it’s entirely wearable, with an asymmetrical shape that’s easy to style.
Laura designed this shawl with every knitter in mind.
Choose your size: Laura designed “Adventura” in two basic sizes, the small using only two skeins of Kelbourne’s sweet sport-weight Andorra (185 yards of each color) and the large using only four (370 yards of each color). But the beauty of this pattern is that it’s written to use up all your yarn, so have fun, and adjust accordingly.
Example! Carol knitted her “Adventura” using four skeins of Andorra (740 yards total), while Julie H. is knitting hers using two skeins of Arroyo (668 yards total).
But wait! There’s more!
“Adventura” also builds in three different levels of difficulty: Make yours working both colors in simple stockinette (Adventure A), OR by working half in a straightforward mesh (Adventure B), OR by working half in slightly more challenging lace (Adventura C).
Example redux! Carol knitted her “Adventura” in stockinette and mesh, and Julie is knitting hers in stockinette throughout.
