Beginning Lace (2 hours)
Sunday, September 15, 12–2pm • $35
Teacher: Tanya Thomann
Learn to make holes (intentionally!) in your knitting. While beginning knitters often love the look of a delicate lace project, they might be afraid to tackle the complexities of a pattern, or shy away from reading confusing charts. This workshop will demystify the language of chart knitting, teach you how yarn-overs and simple decreases can shape your knitting, and leave you feeling confident about your ability to finish the lace scarf you’ll begin in class.
Pre-requisites: Participants should be comfortable casting on, knitting, and purling.
Homework: Cast on 39 sts (loosely), and work 6 rows of garter stitch (knitting every row).
• 100g of light-colored semi-solid fingering weight yarn, purchased from Spun
• Size US5 needles, either straight or at least 24" circular to knit back and forth
Maximum number of students: 7
