Toe-up Socks, Two at a Time (2 weeks)
Sundays, March 5 & 19 • 1-3pm • $60
Teacher: Sara Keim
Learn to knit two-at-a-time socks from the toe up. In this two-week class we will be knitting an adjustable pattern that works for any weight yarn, and we'll make quick slipper socks. There will be a two-week lapse between classes so students have time to work on their technique at home. We will learn all of the techniques used to knit regular socks, but this quick and thick version will allow us to more easily practice our skills.
Pre-requisites: Students will need to know how to knit, purl, increase, decrease, cast off, and knit in the round.
Materials: One skein of a smooth, worsted weight yarn purchased from Spun, such as Shepherd's Wool Worsted or Berroco Vintage, in a light to medium color; a 40" circular needle.
Homework: Students will need to cast on 4" and work 2" of stockinette stitch, leaving the work live on the needle. Use a smooth, light-colored worsted weight yarn and one needle size larger than recommended.
Maximum number of students: 7
