Spindrift Shawl (2 weeks)

Now that you know how to knit and purl, are you ready to knit a shawl for yourself? Designer Helen Stewart has created a pattern perfect for that one special skein of sock-weight yarn you’ve fancied at Spun, a simple lace project with written directions that yields a beautiful crescent shawl. This two-session class with Mary introduces you to basic shawl shapes, increases, how to fix mistakes, tips for shawl knitting, and tips for blocking and wearing your shawl. Class instruction includes practice swatches, handouts, and plenty of time for working on your project.
Pre-requisites: Participants should be familiar with the following: knitting and purling.
Materials: 
• One skein of fingering-weight yarn totaling approximately 400mm/437 yards, purchased from Spun
• Size US5 circular needles, any length
• 32” or 40” size US6 circular needles
• Tapestry needle
