Shawl Workshop (4 weeks)
“Ramble” by Andrea Mowry
Wednesdays, October 25, November 1, 8, and 15, 6-8pm • $126
Teachers: Lynn Garrett and Lizzie Mamantov
Join Lynn and Lizzie to create a stunning shawl designed by Michigan’s own Andrea Mowry. Asymmetrical, wearable “Ramble” is knit on the bias, beginning with simple garter stitch and finishing with brioche herringbone, allowing a continuous play of color and texture that will keep you engaged while knitting and eager to show off your finished garment.
Pre-requisites: Participants should be familiar with the following: the long-tail cast-on, knitting, purling, basic increasing and decreasing, binding off, and moving yarn to the front or back of the work. Previous experience with one- or two-color brioche is strongly recommended.
• 660 yds. (330 yds. in each of two colors) of smooth DK weight yarn, purchased from Spun. Choose two contrasting colors you would like to use together in a project! (Lynn and Lizzie have knit theirs in Brooklyn Tweed Arbor and in Malabrigo Dos Tierras, but the possibilities are limitless.)
