A One-Day Hat!
Saturday, October 13, 1-4 and 5-8pm • $90
Teacher: Lynn Garrett and Elizabeth Mamantov
Have you learned to knit and purl but don’t know where to go next? We have the answer: Make a hat! Better yet: Make a hat in a day! Spend August 11 at Spun with Lynn and Lizzie, and leave ready for (one aspect of) fall. In this class you’ll learn to knit in the round and work with basic decreases and end up with your very own sweet Spundamentals beanie, designed by Alex. This quick knit will familiarize you with knitting in the round using both circular and double-pointed needles, leaving you with the skills you need to move beyond scarves and washcloths.
Participants should be familiar with the following: the long-tail cast-on, knitting, and purling.
• One skein of the Fibre Co. Tundra, purchased from Spun
• 16” size US10.5 circular needles
• Size US10.5 double-pointed needles
• Stitch markers
• Darning or tapestry needle
Maximum number of students: 7
