Spun Summer 2019 KAL

Join us for our Spun Summer 2019 KAL: Groovy!

Groovy Jumper Cables Woolfolk Tynd Spun Summer 2019 KAL.jpg

So aptly named.

Groovy is flexible!

Choose a yarn you love.
Groovy works happily with lace, fingering, sport, DK, worsted, and aran weight yarns. Groovy loves color, its sharp increases and varying textures making it an ideal canvas for that hand-dye you’ve been eyeing. But Groovy also loves a good neutral, a color you’ll want to throw on over just about anything. Have fun!

Choose a fabric you love.
If you’re envisioning your Groovy as a cozy companion, use a needle size close to that recommended for your yarn. Or go up a few needle sizes if you’d like a little more drape.

Choose a size you love.
Go big or go small, depending on your yarn weight and quantity and your needle size. Whatever you choose, Groovy invites you to use up all your yarn, if you feel like getting carried away.

Groovy is portable!

Shawls in general are perfect summertime projects--portable, lightweight, and fun. Groovy in particular brings ease to the summer shawl party: it’s easy to memorize, and easy to work, making it the ideal companion for all your summer adventures. It’s also easy to wear, its asymmetrical shape lending itself to all kinds of styling possibilities.

We’ve knit up two versions of Groovy, a fingering-weight version using Woolfolk Tynd and a DK-weight version using Primrose Classy DK, but the possibilities are endless. Come visit our two beauties, and then do some exploring.

Remember that everyone who signs up for our summer KAL, and picks up their yarn and pattern at Spun, will be entered into a drawing to win a $50 Spun gift card. Finish before September 1, 2019, and let us know (by posting a picture to Facebook or Instagram and tagging @spunannarbor, emailing a photo to info@spunannarbor.com, or bringing your Groovy in to the shop for show-and-tell), and you’ll be entered into a second drawing to win a $70 Spun gift card!
