Nothing says Michigan summertime like polka! (Just play along with us here.) We’re celebrating the season with Churchmouse’s pretty new “Polka Dot Scarf,” a wearable, simple-to-knit stunner that you can work up in one of two sizes and using a ridiculous variety of lightweight yarns. (Anne is making hers in Traverse City-based Why Knot Fiber’s “Swoon,” a luxe alpaca, silk, and cashmere blend with a hint of sparkle. See below!)
How does it work?
Come in to Spun any time before Labor Day to pick up your yarn and a copy of the pattern. Work at home, work at the beach, work on your road trips, work at the shop (Anne will be knitting hers during Spun’s Monday drop-in , from 11am to 1pm), work wherever! When you’re finished, post a picture to Facebook or Instagram, tagging @spunannarbor, email carol[at]spunannarbor.com, or bring your polka dots in for show-and-tell at the shop.
What’s in it for me
- You will greet fall with an excellent new accessory. [“What? This old thing?”]
- You will be entered into a drawing to win a $50 Spun gift card just for participating.
- You will be entered into a second drawing to win a skein of lace-weight yarn (Shibui’s Silk Cloud, Rowan’s Kidsilk Haze, or Mrs. Crosby’s Reticule) if you finish your “Polka Dot Scarf” by Labor Day.
