Double Knitting: “Kitty Crowd Cowl” (2 weeks)
Saturdays, October 21 and 28, 1-3pm • $65
Teacher: Cassondra Rizzardi
Double knitting allows you to knit the front and the back sides of a project simultaneously, creating smooth, reversible stockinette with reversed images on both sides. Designer Cassondra Rizzardi will walk you through the process, showing you the fundamentals of double-knitting, including working with two colors simultaneously and reading a chart. Bonus: Double-knit fabric is cozy and sturdy, so your cowl will stand up to block the wind and keep your neck and chin toasty. Extra bonus: Cats! (Not a cat fan? You should meet Blue, the best cat ever. You would change your mind. Or you wouldn’t, but you could still take the class, gift your “Kitty Crowd Cowl” to a cat fan in your life, and then take your newfound skills onward to a non-feline-centered garment. Up to you.)
Pre-requisites: Participants should be familiar with the following: knitting, purling, and knitting in the round.
