Colorwork Cowl (3 hours)

Sunday, August 5, 12-3pm • $50
Teacher: Beth Battey

Colorwork! Yes, you can! Take on Fair Isle using a straightforward cowl pattern (provided by Beth!), with your choice of chart (provided by Beth!). You’ll learn how to knit using both hands at the same time (i.e., picking and throwing), weaving in your floats at the back of the work for a smooth finish.
Pre-requisites: Participants should know how to cast, knit, and purl, and how to knit in the round. They should be familiar with (not proficient at) knitting using both left-handed (picking, Continental) and right-handed (throwing, British) methods.
Homework: Participants should come to class with 1” of 1X1 ribbing (*K1, P1, repeat from *) or 2X2 ribbing (*K2, P2, repeat from *) worked in the round on 96 stitches, in either color.
Optional: A Fair Isle pattern of the participant’s choice (we’ll have a pattern available for people who don’t have one they want to bring.)
Two skeins of worsted-weight yarn in highly contrasting colors, purchased from Spun
• 16” size US8 circular needle or 32” size US8 circular needle (for magic loop)
Maximum number of students: 7
