Brioche 1 (2 Hours)

Are you ready to take a step beyond the basics and create something new with the texturally rich and versatile brioche stitch? In this class, you’ll learn the basics of brioche and get started with your first brioche project, a simple one-color cowl that is knit flat and fastened with buttons, with instructors Lynn and Lizzie demonstrating using both the Continental (picking) and the British (throwing) methods.
Prerequisites: Participants should be familiar with the following: the long-tail cast-on, knitting, purling, binding off, and moving yarn to the front or back of the work.
Materials:
• One skein of Shepherd’s Wool Worsted, Berroco Vintage Worsted, or any smooth worsted weight wool, purchased from Spun
• Size US8 straight or circular needle (any length)
• Size US10 straight or circular needle (any length)
• Darning or tapestry needle
• Scissors
