Want to tackle a new kind of colorwork with sought-after teacher and designer Andrea Mowry? In this fun, project-based class students will learn Mosaic knitting!
Prerequisites: Participants should be familiar with the following: the long-tail cast-on, knitting, purling, and knitting in the round.
Homework: Students will need to have completed the brim of their hat before class. Using size US5 16” circular needles and the lighter of their two colors (Andrea used Arbor’s Thaw, which is a light gray), cast on 112 stitches. Join to work in the round, and work in K2, P2 rib (knit 2, purl 2) for 1.75”. Andrea recommends using the Twisted German Cast-On: students can find a tutorial here if they would like to try it out.
-Two skeins of DK weight yarn (100 yd/35 g for the main color; 90 yd/30 g for the contrast color), purchased from Spun. Andrea recommends Brooklyn Tweed’s Arbor. She used 1 skein of Thaw (light gray) for her main color and 1 skein of Tincture (yellow) for her contrast color.
