Shawl Workshop: "The Age of Brass and Steam" (5 weeks)

If you're a beginning knitter, this is the perfect class to build your skills. Working with Sunday on the popular "Age of Brass and Steam" shawl, you'll learn how to read a basic knitting pattern. In the process, you'll learn essential tricks of the trade, gain confidence in your skills, and finish the course with a beautiful handmade shawl to keep you warm on chilly Michigan summer nights and into the fall. The class will cover measuring and maintaining gauge, choosing the right yarn for your pattern, "reading" your knitting, fixing mistakes, adding new skeins, weaving in ends, and more. Whew!
Pre-requisites: Cast on, knit, purl, bind off
Materials: 230-240 yards of DK weight yarn purchased from Spun. US 8 32" circular needles (or size required to achieve gauge).
