Beginning Knitting (4 weeks)

Learn the basics of knitting in four two-hour sessions. We’ll cover casting on, the knit and purl stitches using both the Continental and American methods, and binding off. You’ll finish the class with your own pair of fingerless gloves that you made yourself! We’ll also cover a bit of the history of knitting, the importance of gauge, and common mistakes and how to fix them. This course includes plenty of repetition and time to practice with your teacher to ensure you leave with the skills to knit.
Pre-requisites: None!
Materials: US 8 needles, one skein Shepherd’s Wool Worsted purchased from Spun, tapestry needle, measuring tape
